There was a homicide at my apartment complex last Sunday night. Now, I haven't found comprehensive crime statistics, but in 2004 I believe there were a total of 2 homicides in the city of Irvine. Last year Irvine was ranked as the safest large city (over 100,000 people) in America. This was almost certainly the first homicide in this city this year, judging by the list of press releases by the Police Department this year. And it happened here at Parkwest, clearly the most ghetto place in Irvine. This place rocks.
